Resident Evil: Afterlife All Official

While we knew that there would be yet another Resident Evil movie, it wasn't official-official. Now it is.

Website ShockTillYouDrop report that the Screen Gems and Constantin Film have officially announced that production on Resident Evil: Afterlife has kicked off in Toronto, Canada.

The film will be shot entirely in 3D and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson. Afterlife stars Milla Jovovich as Alice, and Ali Larter and Spencer Locke will reprise their roles as Claire Redfield and K-Mart from the previous films. Actor Wentworth Miller is joining the cast as Claire's brother, Chris Redfield. Shawn Roberts will play Wesker.

"Alice's battle with The Umbrella Corporation isn't finished," says director Anderson. "Last time we saw Alice, she let them know she was coming after them. It's time to settle the score." Dun-dun-dunnnnnnnnnnnnnn.

How to be a Domestic Goddess... and have dinner with one

Since I'm single and usually cook for myself at times I always buy the ingredients only when I want to cook and then eat them. I don't usually have a cupboard of goodies or a pantry to keep my foodies as I usually finish them up after 2-3 hours after buying them. I know it sounds hefty but I only eat for myself and sometimes a couple of close friends and they don't mind taking some extra time in the supermarket to buy the stuff that I need.

Usually in the supermarket I tend myself to focus on the things I need and avoid shilly-shallying around the aisles and buying stuff I might not eat and leave it on the table untouched and realize they have surpassed their expiration, and that is a waste of money. With that I get the stuff that I think is easy to prepare and easy to finish yet provided the warmth and comfort of eating and well in the unwinding part of the day you do not want to slave in the kitchen. This dinner made for one if you're greedy or two if you're not feeling selfish.

What I usually buy:

2 Pork chops, approximately 450 grams
Grainy mustard, or just the regular mustard
Cider, dryish taste
All purpose cream

For the health conscious cut off the fat or the rind and put them in a freezer bag and bash them. I do not harbor any ill will on these chops, the reason why I bash them is to make them thinner so they cook quicker. Fry them with some garlic-infused oil and give them five minutes a side or until you feel that they are cooked. Now, the aforementioned sauce. Keep the leftover juices that was on the frying pan that cooked the pork chops, de-glaze the pan with the cider allowing those meaty juices to meld with the cider. Add in the grainy mustard as I really like the texture it give, go ahead and use regular mustard the graininess is all for preference and taste. Add in the cream and mix it altogether, in mere moments the sauce is ready and simply decant the sauce onto the pork chops as the creaminess of the sauce compliments the tender meat. Throw in some steamed rice or some potatoes. Delish!

How to be a Domestic Goddess... and emanate instant comfort

Sometimes it is hard to emanate comfort for some people let alone myself when in dire stress levels and turn ourselves into cracked-up state that would perhaps lead us to a nervous breakdown. Perhaps what I learned from my Mom is that the comfort of food doesn't mean you have to slave all day in the kitchen for a quick fix. All it takes is a quick and steady mind and a handful of standby ingredients and just throw all together and voila! Instant calmer.

I always believed ice cream is the universal instant calmer for the senses. I particularly hummed to ice cream providing its sub-zero calmness and the addition of the smooth concoction of peanut butter and chocolate is partnership made in heaven. Simple to make, mix and enjoy. Now that's instant confort, because when you want comfort is has to be fast.

Having chocolate peanut butter fudge sundae is the stuff of dreams, and when you serve this to your friends they will kneelingly weep with gratitude.

What you'll need:
175ml double cream or multipurpose cream
100g milk chocolate, chopped
100g smooth peanut butter (Skippy for preference)
3 x 15ml tablespoons golden syrup
ice cream for your choice; chocolate vanilla and toffee works best. Häagen-Dazs anyone?
4 x 15ml tablespoons salted peanuts, roughly chopped or left whole to taste
Serving Size : Serves 4 very lucky people

Mix the milk chocolate, cream, golden syrup and peanut butter altogether in a saucepan on medium heat until melted. Scoop out your ice cream of your choice into a bowl or some old school sundae glasses (which I still have) and simlply decant the fudgey sauce and top in some salted peanuts if you like. Totally orgasmic and serves 4 lucky people.

Sydney Sky Turns RED!!!!

kate2-600x400.jpg

Your eyes are not deceiving you! If you don't believe us, head to Twitter and see the hundreds of people talking about it!

People in Sydeny, Austraila woke this morning to see a deep reddish haze unlike anything they have ever seen before. And weather experts are amazed as well!

But how can this be?!

Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Jane Golding says that the color comes from an exorbitant amount of dust that has collected in the area, saying:

"The reason for the dust is we had some really strong winds in the inland areas of NSW and in South Australia for a sustained period yesterday. That's lifted a whole lot of dust off the ground because it's quite dry out there, many of those areas are still drought affected…I've not seen anything like this before."

She also pointed out that the reddish haze is expected to fade as the sun gets higher in the sky, changing from "a crimson red to orange by about 7am."

A severe weather warning has gone out across the city, as the dust has made visibility terrible and the winds carrying this reddish dust are as high as 60km/h and expected to get worse!!!

This is just crazy! It looks like the "end of days" over there!!!

Silent Hill 2 Movie now official

Writer Roger Avary and producer Samuel Hadida are returning to Silent Hill for Silent Hill 2. The two worked together on the 2006 prequel, which grossed nearly $100 million worldwide.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that filming will begin next year after Hadida and his studio Davis Films finishes Resident Evil: Afterlife with Milla Jovovich.

Earlier this Spring, actor Radha Mitchell — who starred in the first film — stated that the first film's director Christophe Gans most likely wasn't attached to the sequel. "A shame because he's a nutter but he's so passionate about the game," says Mitchell. "I think he should do it if they do it again."

Samuel Hadida has produced the Resident Evil films as well as True Romance. Avary, who won an Oscar with Quentin Tarantino for the Pulp Fiction screenplay, is also working on the film version of Return to Castle Wolfenstein for Hadida's production company.

In January 2008, Avary was involved in a car accident which saw his wife hospitalized and his friend, 34-year-old Andreas Zini, killed. The director entered his plea in a Ventura, California court in late August. He will be sentenced on September 29 and is currently free on bail. And next year, Silent Hill 2 will begin filming.

Your First Look!

smurfsscan.jpg

Another tragic disappointment for children of the 80s or a happy reinvention for the children of today?

We're not sure, but this is the first look at the new, CGI stylin' Smurf from their new movie being released next year.

What do U think?

Holy Hell! A Pole-Dancing Doll???

polldancingdoll83109slw.jpg

Miley Cyrus: what have you started?!?!

We have found something even more horrifying than the breast feeding baby-doll.

A Pole-Dancing Doll!!!

The plaything comes with a doll and attachable pole and the box insists the product is "Interesting", can go "up and down" as well as "round and round". It even plays music! (Because what is a stripper without a tune to dance to?!)

Though the doll in the picture is fully clothed, we're sure it won't stay that way for long. Like the box also says, every stripper needs "style."

And by the way, dollar bills, mini beer bottles, and application for computer school is sold separately.

If your kids ask for this doll this holiday season, we recommend reform school IMMEDIATELY!

What is the world coming to?!?

What do U think of this doll?

How To Be A Domestic Goddess... During the rainy days

Though its August, the mid months of the year has been decidedly become the most horrid of months since the rainy-cold days. I've became a bit more of a lone wolf carrying my grocery load through the rain at most times. Fortunately, my drinks bar has always been a good friend in times of my retoxification needs after work or a long day out of the house.

Since I wasn't really in a mood of drinking I decided to put a spin on a favorite summer drink and make it edible so my other friends who don't drink enjoy the scintillating depth of liquor without the after-party drunkenness so to speak. They shouldn't be penalized for that since they don't drink.

Pineapples are every in and reminds me of the summers that seem to last for ages. My caramelized pineapple skewered kebabs with Hot Malibu chocolate sauce definitely hits the spot. Malibu is just coconut rum and less viscous than regular rum and is available locally as it reminds me the Caribbean dreams I still harbor.

What you'll need:

  1. 1 ripe pineapple, hacked vertically, of course skinned

  2. Demerra sugar or regular sugar for drenching

For the chocolate:

  1. 200 grams of dark chocolate with 70% cocoa solids

  2. 120 ml Multi-purpose cream or Double Cream (for Double Creaminess)

  3. 125ml of Malibu or Coconut Rum of choice

Pro-tip: When using barbecue sticks make sure to soak them first in cold water so they wont catch fire or heat from the babbi or the barbecue grill.

Impale the pineapple with the soaked barbecue sticks (I used bamboo, strength matters) and drench them to the sugar making sure they are covered on all sides. Immediately decant them to the hot grill and allow the sugar to caramelize and lightly scorch the pineapple. It doesn't take that long to grill the fruit. What's important is the caramelly-sugar melts and welds into the pineapple giving it's smooth, enriching flavor.

For the chocolate dip, decimate the the chocolate, pour in the cream and the rum into a hot pot and allow them to melt. Then stir to make sure all of the flavors fuse together, also squeeze some of the juices from the pineapple to instill the depths of the fruit into the chocolatey substance. Decant the dip into a earthenware bowl to keep its warmth for eating.

Once the pineapple skewer or fruity lollipop I would call them, simply dunk the fruit into the chocolate mess. I knew this pineapple is born to dunk in chocolate.

How To Be A Domestic Goddess... and buy stuff from 7-11

Nigella licks some ice creamMy inner Nigella Lawson emerges and was bound to do some kitchen therapy each time I pass by my mother's house during the weekends. At the expense of the fridge which is sacked with lots of ingredients waiting to be mixed and pleasured into waiting mouths or in this case mine.

I am undoubtedly selfish sometimes when making food and perhaps not sharing to my friends who most are in their zen-like nature not to make a deal about it because they can cook better than me. I decided to take a different turn; make something for both of us and a few of our relatives. One of my friends decided to make dinner and I was tasked to do desert. Apparently, there was a shortage of fruits and cream in our hefty pantry so I decided to go to the local 7-11 store and buy some vanilla ice cream. I decided to make some ice cream cake.

The ingredients are pretty simple to make and does require a strong hand to whisk the ice cream and later immerse in some de-stressing.

What you'll need, available in 7-11 as always:
1. A gallon of vanilla ice cream, or dairy based flavor, don't use fruity ones I'm afraid
2. A good box of chocolate candy bars, I used jumbo-sized Kit-Kats for this, choose anything you like
3. A good bunch of some chocolate chips used normally for endearingly sublime chocolate chip cookies
4. Honey roasted peanuts if you like
5. A steady hand and a rolling pin.

Put the chocolate bar of choice in a freezer bag and with much gusto smash them with the rolling pin until they are chunked, crumbled and delectably dusty. Make sure to soften the ice cream so after buying them from the store leave it to soften for 5 minutes. Once soften or if the ice cream melts into a creamy concoction and less firm, go ahead mix in the chocolatey goodies and the peanuts altogether. I am a creature of habit and I use the stand mixer my Mom left in the house, I know you don't have one so carefully fold the ingredients with a spatula. Get a standard size baking pan and carefully line some cling form both in the bottom and on the sides for some overhang, it also makes sure its easy to turn it over, believe me it works

Pour in the alchemized ice cream to the baking pan and leave it to set n the freezer for an hour or so to firm up. Immediately if not serenely serve the ice cream cake to the awaiting lucky people. Pour in some chocolate syrup if you have and enjoy the desert!

Pencils Out For This Street Fighter IV Concept Art

With the game now out, there's not as much work for the Street Fighter IV dev team to do over on the game's official blog. So they've decided to start posting some concept art instead.

Proper concept art, too, with pencils and sketchbooks and everything. Very nice stuff. Wish more developers did this, instead of releasing "target renders" and whatnot. Something tells me the Sagat-Ryu illustration is scintillatingly insinuatingly bi-curious.
