Mom Laughs In Violent Game's Face

A handful of mothers were totally freaked out by sci-fi game Dead Space 2. Those moms are pansies.

Dino Ignacio's mom? While everyone else seems to cover their eyes, his mom laughs in the game's face, cackles and chuckles. Ignacio is Dead Space 2's user interface designer.

Dead Space 2 is headed to the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC later this month. Some find the game scary, Dino's mom thinks its hilarious.

Xbox 360 Toaster Is Part Of Your Complete Morning

The idea behind this casemod may sound ludicrous, but let's think for a second. When was the last time a burglar went straight for a toaster?

Of course, this is a toaster plugged into a TV, so maybe that's a dead giveaway that this console mod does not in fact lightly brown slices of bread. Still, good luck getting rid of this one-of-a-kind coonsole at a pawn store or GameStop.

Final Fantasy Illustrator Finally Making Feature Film Debut

There is one man who best represents the look of the entire Final Fantasy franchise and that man is Yoshitaka Amano. Whether it be character design, art or logos, Amano's left his mark on the series. Next up, his own anime.

Amano is helming his debut anime, called Deva Zan. This isn't his first fortray into anime as the artist cut his teeth working on properties like Speed Racer and Gatchaman. He first entered the anime industry at the tender age of 15.

The film is the product of Amano's new production studio, Studio Deva Loka, and Amano came up with the story a decade ago. Set in the late 19th century, the 3D film follows a samurai named Zan who ends up in an alternate universe.

Deva Zan is due out next spring in Japan.

Robot Chicken Star Wars Episode III - Force Unleashed Sketch

Everyone I've talked to has warned me away from Star Wars: the Force Unleashed II, but damn if the wizards at Robot Chicken don't make it incredibly compelling.

If only the game were more like this. I'd play a video game that involved Darth Vader avoiding the Emperor's questions as Starkiller systematically took out major Imperial installations one by one. I wouldn't even care if we never even saw the secret apprentice at all. just have a Stormtrooper pop in every couple of minutes to deliver the bad news.

Beers Filling Up Through the Bottom!

Seriously! We gotta have this by New Year! I guess this allows the beer's foamy stuff not to overflow since its filled from the bottom. The foam usually forms if the beer is poured. Love it!

Glee's Darren Criss Makes Disney Sexy!

Be still our gleek loving hearts! This boy remains our favorite teenage dreamboat!

Glee's Darren Criss put on an impromptu performance for the passersby at The Grove yesterday. He was waiting to be interview by Mario Lopez for Extra, when he busted out his guitar and started playing the classic Disney tune, Part of Your World from The Little Mermaid.

He could sing the Meow-Mix jingle and it would still take our breathe away! We just love him so!

Check out his very well arranged performance above!

Wahlberg, meet Drake

Sorry, Nathan Fillion -- you're not funky enough for this role.

I'm talking about the role of Nathan Drake, the rough-and-tumble lead in Sony's hit Uncharted games for the Playstation 3. In an interview with MTV, actor/producer/ex-dancer Mark Wahlberg revealed that he will, in fact, play Drake in the big-screen adaptation.

It really shouldn't come as any surprise. The film is being helmed by David O. Russell, who directed Wahlberg in the acclaimed 1999 war film "Three Kings" as well as the upcoming Micky Ward biopic "The Fighter." Like Drake, Wahlberg is tough as nails.

"David is one of the best writer/directors I've ever worked with," Wahlberg told MTV. "The idea that he has is just insane. So hopefully we'll be making that movie this summer."

The news comes just weeks after a fellow thespian, "Castle" star and Drake lookalike Nathan Fillion, made waves by tweeting that he'd love to play Nathan Drake. We (and most of the Internet, it seems) agreed with him -- the dude is seemingly perfect for the part -- but apparently Russell did not.

Wahlberg also mentioned that legendary tough guys Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro have been in talks to play Drake's uncle and father, respectively, though that's yet to be confirmed.

The role would mark the second major video game movie for Wahlberg, who starred as the title character in the poorly-received adaptation of 2001 action game, Max Payne.

Russell to direct Uncharted movie, Fillion rallies for role

Look out, Indy -- a new cliffhanging treasure hunter is headed to the big screen, and he's got plenty of chops. At least, he does if his video game experience is any indication.

The adventurer is Nathan Drake, star of the two smash hit Uncharted games for the PS3 -- and soon to be coming to a theater near you, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Sweetening the pot for fans of the game is news that acclaimed filmmaker David O. Russell ("Three Kings," "Flirting With Disaster") will both write and direct the adaptation for Columbia Pictures.

But who will play the lead role? That's yet to be decided, but if fans had their way, it would likely go to another Nathan: Nathan Fillion, who also happens to be a dead ringer for the video game character. And the 'Castle' star thinks it's a pretty great idea, too.

"If ever there was a Twitter campaign, let this be it," Fillion tweeted to his half-million followers, linking to a news story about the Uncharted movie news.

He sure seems like the perfect match on paper. While there's been no word how closely the film -- currently dubbed "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" -- will follow the events of the first game, it's bound to be jam-packed with loads of precarious leaps, frantic shootouts, and a healthy helping of smart-alecky one-liners. In other words, exactly the stuff that made Fillion a man among geeks during his brief stint as a Han Solo-like spaceship captain in the short-lived sci-fi series 'Firefly.'

Not everyone is hoping Fillion lands the role, however. Nolan North, better known as the voice of Nathan Drake (among countless others), sees dashing tough guy Hugh Jackman as the best fit for the part.
